With a spacious and positive start of the day, I am feeling so much better and more able to face life. It has restored faith in myself and surely (this is me hoping here), it will bring good things.
Â
If that’s of any interest to you, here is my morning routine:
Â
As soon as the alarm goes off, I play the Daily Jay on my Calm app while drinking half a litre of water. I get up and do gentle movements with Daily Move
with Mel also on Calm. I then go down to make tea and while the kettle boils, I do my brain training on my Elevate app. I then have my shower and put my makeup on. I curl up in a throw and read something interesting for 10 minutes then journal for 20. Next, I have my breakfast, take my vitamins, brush my teeth and get dressed. Finally, I read a book or a magazine or do more writing for another 20-30 minutes, and I am ready to start my day.Â
Â
This is my me-time. The world is still and there isn’t anyone to steal it from me. No checking emails nor the news. Now that I don’t look at the headlines in the morning anymore, I sometimes forget to do it for 2-3 days and you know what, it doesn’t matter because hardly any of it is relevant to my life. I am more interested in nature waking up on spring’s eve
and I notice little changes every day.
Â
Unwittingly, this has made space for reintroducing creative play in my life. I couldn’t reach that part of me for months but now I want to, and I have a new rule taken from a poster I saw: Art Before Dishes. Of course, ‘Dishes’ stands for anything that needs to be done but is not urgent.
This means fitting it in the to-do list, not letting it be just a wish.
Â
This month, my intention is Prepare because I have guests coming soon and I really need to prepare the house (lots to do including carrying on with the conservatory project). I also want to prepare for spring; there will be gardening to do, new flowers to
buy. Furthermore, there are changes (not good ones) coming into my life so I must prepare.  As you can see, it is wide-ranging and I’ll do as much as I can, knowing that a mindset focused on preparing is key.
Â
What about you? What do you need to prepare for? What can you do this month to support
it?
